I think of my paintings, and art in general, as beautifully ‘useless.’ They exist beyond practical purpose, free to express emotions, experiences, and whatever rises to the surface. It’s the perfect counterbalance to my advertising work, which is laser-focused, intentional, and built to persuade. Art gives me space to create without aim; advertising gives me structure and direction. I like both.
